Pinay-German Travel Blogger Hoping To Visit U.S.A. Again

I was exchanging conversation with a friend in facebook awhile ago. She mentioned that she wants to go back to Europe if her husband's work contract will end in March 2013. She is not sure if her husband will be assigned to Europe again. If not, their next assignment might be in Hawaii. She is already inviting me to visit them in this island if ever they will be assigned there. I told her when monetary matters allows, I will surely visit them. This is one nice thing if you have good friends around the world. She also told me that I will let her know once I am visiting Las Vegas again. She would love to see me there also! That is quite a great idea!

A quick sightseeing in Luxor Las Vegas before I flew  back  to Europe last 2008. I miss Las Vegas!
It seems that the travel blogger is planning to go gallivanting on the other side of the world again! God's willing and I believed that this wish will be granted again by our Good Lord.

Where I had a stop-over during my  flight to the U.S.A.
I remember my first visit to the Unites States of America four years ago. I boarded for the first time one of those Delta Air Lines flights to Las Vegas MCCarran International airport. It was quite a long trip from Munich International Airport but it was all worth it. I remember having some hours stop-over in Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport that time. Thanks to my dear sister who paid for my cheap round-trip ticket to the U.S.

I am hoping to visit U.S.A. again this summer. My sister asked me last week if I already start finding cheap airline tickets for my next visit there. This time I want to board another airline and wish to board in one of the American Airlines flights to Las Vegas, Nevada.

At The Museum in McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas while waiting for my flight.
This is the advantage of our modern technology at present. With the help of computers and internet we can already find affordable flights to all corners of the planet. It is really an advantage for a travel blogger like me.

Las Vegas at night. I miss walking around the city and seeing the beauty of lights. From right, you can see  the Eiffel Tower of Paris Hotel, Planet Hollywood (back of Eiffel Tower) and  Bally's.
Lastly, I am hoping that this second trip to the United States will come true again. I am also praying that my youngest sister, whose interview and medical for a U.S. visa will be granted soon. She is the reason why I am going back to the U.S., to attend her wedding ceremony and once again to see my other sister who currently lives in the so called "Entertainment Capital of the World", the fabulous city of Las Vegas!

See you soon again U.S.A.!

Spring Trip To Cannes, France

It was indeed a memorable trip we had to Cannes, France last spring 2011. Together with some friends, I truly enjoyed our trip there. I love this city which is very famous for its International Film Festival held in May annually. Sad to say, I haven't witness it  because it was April when we went there.

From our hotel in Pietra Ligure, Italy, our bus needed over two hours to reach Cannes including some stop-overs on the road. I did not get bored while in the bus because the views along the seaside were really amazing.

Cannes has always been a dream travel  destination of many. I believed I am very lucky to be there once in my life. I  always wanted to go back there again in the future. Here are some images I took from Cannes during our trip last April 2011.

My 4th Visit in Salzburg, Austria

I should be in Andorra and France  this coming July 1-7, 2012 but it did not  materialized. This is the problem if you are travelling alone sometimes. I called the travel agency last week  that I am willing to pay the  extra charge for single room occupancy but they said  that  there no available  single  rooms anymore. I thought you  will be paying the extra room charge  if you are alone in a double-room. This is quite confusing. But anyway, that trip might not really for me. There are might be other destinations destined for me next month or in August.  I will just wait and see!

For now, I just want to share some images taken during my 4th visit in  Salzburg, Austria. And yes, last  month was my fourth visit to this lovely city of Austria.

Salzburg, the birthplace of the famous composer and musician named Mozart  is also famous for  the setting of the movie, The Sound of Music.  How about climbing to the top of Hohensalzburg fortress?  I did not really climb its top due to time constraint but I was able to go up to the top of the castle by riding the furnicular. If you love shopping, the Getreidegasse is the perfect place for you. This is the famous shopping street in this city.

There are just a lot of things to do and experience in this city. Even I was there for the fourth  time already, I still did not see everything in it. Still hoping for another come back huh?

The Temple of Debod in Madrid, Spain

After around two kilometers of walking from Puerta del Sol to Paseo del Pintor Rosales, I finally reached my destination, the Temple of Debod. Thanks to the map that was given by our tour guide named Lothar during our tour in Madrid last December 2011.

We did not had the chance to visit this temple during that first trip. During my three weeks trip in Spain's capital last March 2012, I really put it in my list of sights that I will be visiting in Madrid. I am happy to be there despite the unfriendly weather that afternoon.

The Templo de Debod or Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple which was rebuilt in Madrid, Spain. The temple was built originally 15 km south of Aswan  in southern Egypt very close to the first cataract of the Nile and to the great religious center dedicated to the goddess Isis, in Philae.

The fountain at the back of the temple. You can see the  Torre de Madrid (Tower of Madrid at the center) and the Edificio España (on the right)  buildings at the background.

Address:
Temple of Debod
Paseo del Pintor Rosales, 2
28008 Madrid, Spain

The temple was rebuilt in one of Madrid's parks, the Parque del Oeste, near the Royal Palace of Madrid, and opened to the public in 1972.

In 1960, due to the construction of the Great Dam of Aswan and the consequent threat posed to several monuments and archeological sites, UNESCO made an international call to save this rich historical legacy. As a sign of gratitude for the help provided by Spain in saving the temples of Abu Simbel, the Egyptian state donated the temple of Debod to Spain in 1968.

The Best of Budapest

There are a lot of beautiful and interesting cities to visit in Europe. Each city is unique in its own way.  Budapest itself has its own uniqueness. It can offer a lot of things to every guest and tourist. Besides this city is not so expensive compared to Paris, London or Zurich.

There are a lot of means to get in to Budapest. You can find cheap international flights to this city especially if you book it ahead of time. It is also reachable by train, buses or by boat depending on your point of departure.

Don't miss these famous attractions and sights when visiting Budapest, Hungary.

Buda Castle is considered to be one of the tops sights in Hungary's capital. It is located on the Pest side of Budapest. From there you can have an amazing view of the city. Take a walk in the castle district and be sure to visit the Matthias Church, the Fishermen's Bastion and the Holy Trinity Square.

The Parliament Building from the Fishermen's Bastion.

The Parliament is another interesting structure of the city. It is the most grandiose building on the Pest embankment. It is the second largest parliament building in Europe after the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania.

The only way to go inside the Parliament is through guided tours which is said to be free for inhabitants of European Union.

St. Stephen's Cathedral is the tallest building in Budapest. It has the same height as the Parliament building. The mummified right hand of the founding king of Hungary, Saint Stephen since the 11th century is found inside this Basilica.

The Heroes' Square, called as Hosok tere in Hungarian is also worth to visit. You can find the Millennium Monument in this famous square of Budapest.

The Heroes' Square during my second visit last June 4-5, 2012.

The Citadel on the Gellert Hill and the Statue of Liberty are worth a short hike. You can also take the bus no. 27 to go there.

Other top sights in the city are the City Park, Danube Promenade, Margaret Island and a walk to the Andrassy Avenue are all worth to experience.

If you are coming from France, Germany, Switzerland and Great Britain, cheap carriers like Easyjet, Ryanair and German Wings are servicing flights to Budapest.

Sightseeing in Aranjuez, Spain

Aranjuez is not really far from Madrid. It is around 48 km from Spain's capital city. We took the train when we visited  this city. I guess we only paid around 5.00 Euros for the return train ticket.

We had the chance to see the Royal Palace. Since our time was limited we did not go inside it. We also visited part of the Royal garden. This palace was once the spring residence of the kings of Spain from the late 19th century.

We had a short time visiting this place but I am hoping to visit it again in the future. The most important thing is, I had a great time during my visit there with friends.

I guess I have to slowly sign-off now. Before that, I need to search first about off site data storage. I guess I need one for my files.

Aranjuez is now listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here are some of the images I took from Aranjuez.

Accommodation in Budapest

Depending on your type, needs and budget, you can always find a place for you to stay in Budapest, Hungary. We just visited this city lately and we are quite satisfied with our trip including the apartment we stayed there. It is fully furnished and newly renovated. It is also very clean. The cleaners might not be using barco scrubs grey s anatomy but at least they maintain the cleanliness of their apartments.

If you are looking for cheap and affordable place to stay in Hungary's capital city, you can surely find one from apartments to villas, hotels and other form of accommodation. Finding it online is the best thing for you to do.

St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest, Hungary

It was already my second visit to Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. The first time I visit this city was in summer 2011. During my second visit lately, I was with friends who are touring Europe. It was a lot of fun and I believed a very memorable trip for all of us.

One of the sights we visited was St. Stephen's Basilica. It is a Roman Catholic basilica in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (c 975–1038), whose mummified fist is housed in the reliquary.

St. Stephen's Basilica is one of the most important tourist spots in Hungary. It is also the third highest building in Hungary.

After taking some photos of this  building, we proceeded our walk to Buda castle.

The rear view of the Basilica taken during our trip last June 3, 2012.

St. Stephen's Basilica has a width of 55 metres (180 ft), and length of 87.4 metres (287 ft). It was completed in 1905 after 54 years of construction, according to the plans of Miklós Ybl, and was completed by József Kauser.

Travel Insurance

Hi peeps! I am just giving you a short update for now. Life has been so very busy the past two weeks but I love it. Anyway, I asked some friends who are visiting Europe if they have a travel insurance. I told them that it is very important to have one especially during emergencies like sickness or accidents. Since we were talking about insurances that time, we also tackled about cheap term life insurance no exam and other insurance that are helpful in times of emergencies.

Since I am a frequent traveller, I also have a travel insurance which is valid for a year. Better be ready and safe than sorry. And now, I forgot if my friends have a travel insurance visiting Europe. I'll ask her tomorrow again.

Enjoy your first weekend of June 2012! Be safe!
